This release was originally in second fill port casks which were then moved into a 60+ year old Muscat cask in May 2021. Prior to finishing the whisky had a great structure, however, was lacking depth and complexity – over the last year the muscat cask has been building this depth and complexity.

 

Aroma: Poached pears with cinnamon and cloves open out into a delicate florals and oak.

Taste: A real journey of a whisky – starting with sweet with shortbread and mince pies before moving through woody, malty, and slightly dry spiciness before the alcohol comes in late. 

Finish: A long, pleasant, and satisfying finish with raisin, oak, and white pepper.
