Located in the heart of the Beaujolais Crus area, the Cave du Château de Chénas produces fine winessince the 17th century. « Cœur de Granit » range isthe result of a rigorous selection of the oldest vines producing concentred small grapes, and of a long and sustained vinification and a careful ageing. The terroir of our Crus is essentially composed of granit of an exceptional purity which givesracy and full of character wines.



Terroir

Area: Beaujolais region, South Burgundy

Grape variety: Gamay Noir

Vineyard: granitic soils – continental climate

Winemaking and Ageing

Traditional beaujolais’ method: semi-carbonic maceration before pressing. Then, wine ages in stainless-steel tank to keep all the freshness of the fruit.

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet-colored with purple highlights. The nose is delicately perfumed with vanilla and red fruits. The fore-palate is round and offers silky tannins: typical of this Beaujolais Cru. A great persistancy in mouth and a perfectly balanced finish.

Food and Wine Pairing

Serve at 16°C on black pudding with mashed potatoes, pork cheek stew with red wine or rabbit sautéed with onions.

Its purple colour suggests many roses which beautify our vineyard and specially the historic chief-place of Le Bois d’Oingt, nicknamed the Village of Roses. It is in homage to Louis PRADEL, a native of this village, that the Bois- d'Oingt has been decorated for decades with a multitude of roses.
