Allies Vermouths

After 20 years of growing and making Pinot Noir, David Chapman has a new home in South Gippsland.
The story:
Economically, a vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula was unobtainable but they wanted to find a place with cool winters, moderate summers, regular rainfall during the summer months, a dry autumn and moderately fertile soils. Eventually the search was narrowed to South Gippsland and finally a block of land was chosen on the outskirts of Foster. They named the new winery Corner Inlet, due to its very close proximity to it and hints at its coastal environment. From 2020 to 2023, 12500 Pinot Vines were planted to a variety of favored clones at a relatively close spacing. A winery was constructed at the same time, with the goal of being able to produce wine sustainably and with carbon neutrality. 2023 was the first harvest, a small one, with more wines to come as the vines come into production and mature.
