The Bourgogne “Vieilles Vignes” from Domaine Bertrand comes from 70-year-old vines located on the single parcel “Les Mex” in Saint-Martin-sous-Montaigu. The old vines, planted over 0.8 hectares, benefit from an ideal exposure and a 2% slope, allowing for optimal grape ripening. This exceptional terroir, with its clay-limestone soil and southwest exposure, gives rise to a refined and elegant wine.

Grape Variety
100% Pinot Noir.

Tasting Notes
Bourgogne “Vieilles Vignes” 2022

This wine displays a limpid, brilliantly deep ruby color. On the nose, it reveals rich indulgence with sweet red and black fruit aromas such as strawberry and raspberry, accompanied by spicy pepper notes and subtle touches of oak. On the palate, it offers beautiful intensity with silky, well-coated tannins. Ample and long, it leaves a spicy, slightly peppery sensation, delivering a refined and elegant experience.

Service
Between 18 and 20°C

We recommend serving our wines 2 degrees above the usual temperature so they are perfectly settled and reveal all their complexity and aromas.

Ageing
All our wines are aged in oak barrels, 30% of which are new.

For our 2022 vintages, we experimented with the use of egg-shaped tanks. This unique process allows the wine to remain in constant motion, helping preserve freshness and the purity of the fruit.

Following this successful experiment, we will continue to use these egg-shaped vessels for vintages where the fruit is ripe and juicy, in order to maintain their full fruity expression.
